The emphasis is and will always be on SAFETY.
- ALL training is conducted in a safe and controlled environment.
- You should not incur any vehicle damage or personal injury if you listen and watch your instructor who is always on hand to assist/advise.
- Any questions are welcomed – more interaction results in more knowledge shared.
Program for the day:
8:30 – 9:00: Arrival and registration – coffee and rusks available.
9:00 – 10:00: Theory:
We discuss situations where you have found yourself needing recovery
- We discuss how and when and why we are need of recovery
- We look at and discuss different ways of recovery and look at the equipment learning to identify each piece of equipment and what it would be used for
10:30 – 10:45 Comfort break
10:45 – 14:30 Practical instruction
Practical demonstration:
- Identifying the correct shackles to use – steel vs soft shackle
- Snatch strap and kinetic rope and correct way of attaching to vehicles – recovery points
- Correct use of air jack
- Correct use of hi-lift jack and different application of a hi – lift jack
- Recovery or sand tracks
- Correct safe way of operating a winch – difference in operation steel cable vs synthetic rope
We divide the participants into groups and task them to utilize the different recovery equipment available– practical evaluation.
NB – IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT WE CANNOT TEACH YOU HOW TO DO A
RECOVERY – HOWEVER – WE CAN TEACH YOU THE CORRECT AND SAFE METHOD OF UTILIZING RECOVERY EQUIPMENT.
