No, a standard 4×4 will be able to do all of our adventures. You need the basics to enjoy yourself. A decent quality tent, a good quality sleeping bag, a comfortable stretcher or mattress to sleep on, cooking utensils, camping chair and a quality 12v fridge that runs off a separate auxillary battery. A quality air compressor, tyre gauge and puncture repair kit as well as basic recovery equipment. A 55L water tank will also take you a long way.

Our adventures are limited to 6 vehicles i.e 12 pax. The only time the group is larger is for example with a Namib Desert trip where the concession holder requires a minimum of 16 – 18 participants.

This is almost like asking “how long is a piece of string”. Ideally, we would want to be in camp by 16:00pm at the latest HOWEVER there is no way of knowing what eventualities surprise you along the way, getting stuck in sand or mud can keep you busy for hours and will create havoc with any itinerary. BUT in a perfect world, your day will start around 8:30am with enough stops along the way and in theory should be done by 16:00pm.

All park and camping fees where applicable are included in the price. Any activities such as boat cruises and game drives UNLESS stated otherwise. A competent and experienced guide in a fully equipped vehicle. Two radios. All admin in terms of booking process is covered.

We travel to the bush or remote areas “to get away” from the digital world. Most campsites near cities offer some form of connectivity. The option is make use of an E-sim or buy a local sim card for access. Bear in mind that some of the places we visit there is no connectivity. We do at all times have a satellite phone on hand for any emergencies.

As a rule, we do not. A lot of the camping facilities do have restuarants. We can however, if it is a group booking and they require meals, assist with that, but generally speaking our adventures are “self – catered”

Probably the most frequent question we get asked. Unfortunately, we have been conditioned in South Africa to regard everything and everyone with suspicion. The short answer is YES, it is safe. In the bigger towns and cities,you will always find petty crime so being aware of your surroundings, will go a long way.

In terms of safety in the bush, we adhere to strict protocols, especially in unfenced areas in Botswana and Namibia. Unfortunately small children, even though they are just having fun, to a wild animal sounds like a distress call and will attract attention from the wrong crowd, such as hyeana etc.

Generally we do not like to allow children younger than 6 years old to do these kinds of adventures, and is purely because of their own safety, having said that I have had many well behaved children over the last 25 years on adventures without incident, it’s a simple matter of listening to advice.
